First Working Experience At Client Site

Went to client site for work today which is INTI University College Nilai campus as they were going to use the account activation for INTI Federated Services developed by my company. It is a single sign on solution where the users can aceess to various online services provided by the colleage with a single user ID and password.

This was the first time the system we worked on for more than a month being implemented into the real working environment on INTI student registration day! This explained why we need to show face there, just in case there were anything that needs us to settle about the system. Things not going smoothly in the morning, but it became better and smoother towards the afternoon. If I look at it in positive angle, a new try and new experience for me.

[Outside look of INTI College University multi purpose hall]

[The section I was working on - INTI Account activation]

A nostalgic feeling strike me when I stepped into the multi purpose hall where the students registration was held. The arrangement and the size of the hall look very familiar to me. It reminded me about my orientation week and registration day when I first entered my university about 10 years ago.

At that time I just like those students, went in for registration with blurred-look face, scared yet full of excitement. That was the time started the next chapter in my life where I tasted what orientation week was all about and also experienced the life study in university which I found is one the most memorable and unforgettable point in life!

Anyway, tomorrow will still go to the same place, doing the same job, so hopefully everything will be going fine and smooth.

Anything... Whatever!

What you plan to drink today? Anything? Whatever?

Ya! Sometimes we have such doubt. We are undecided what to drink. But no worry now... because you can just order Anything or Whatever when you face such problem!

This is the idea from a soft drink manufacturer in Singapore. I heard about these soft drinks for quite some times already through mass media. Last week I just happened to meet them in a 7-Eleven shop. Thus, I decided to buy one to have a try what the drink is actually about!

"Anything" is actually a carbonated drink. I was quite curious about the flavour inside the can. I was thinking maybe the taste is other from others, that's why it is so special!

I couldn't wait to open the can then suck the liquid inside with a straw. "Emmm... the taste is so familiar...", I was thinking. After some thought, I just realized that it was actually the taste of orange soft drink, you know the taste of those F&N or Mirinda orange? Then, what is so special about it?

After I asked one of my colleague, I just realized that actually the drink inside has nothing special. It is just an ordinary soft drink. What make the drink special is the idea that you never know what is the flavour of your drink until you open and try it! It is the concept that make this drink unique but not the content itself. I think it suits the name "Anything" and "Whatever".

According to the offical manufacturer website, "Anything" comes with six flavours, Cola, Cola with Lemon, Apple, Fizz Up, Cloudy Lemon and Root Beer.

But did you notice that there is no Orange flavour? The one I got was orange flavour! If you look at the can carefully, the printed flavours are Apple, Cola, Orange, Root Beer, Fizz Up and Cloudy Lemon. There is no Cola with Lemon. That's why I am a bit confused. Is it because of website information not up-to-date or local adaptation strategy applied by the company? But if the latter is the main concern, I will wonder since when Malaysian became the big fans of Orange drink?

In contrast to "Anything", "Whatever" is non-carbonated series of drinks. The concept is the same, "whatever's concept", you want whatever, I give you whatever. So, until the moment you drink it, then you will know what is the actual flavour in it.

The one I got previous day was a Jasmine Green Tea flavour. Still the same old saying, nothing much special and surprising about the drink, just the concept that kicked my curiosity.

"Whatever" series comprises of 6 flavours as well, namely Ice Lemon Tea, Peach Tea, Jasmine Green Tea, White Grape Tea, Apple Tea and Chrysanthemum Tea.

The drinks priced at RM1.90 respectively in 7-Eleven convenient shops, slightly expensive than the ordinary soft drinks such as Cola-Cola and Jasmine green tea. It is a drink which worth a try especially for those who love to try their luck or looking for more surprise in life!

Fish Leong In Person @ Berjaya Time Square

I met Fish Leong in person today!

[Fish Leong interviewed by the host, Jiang]

Ya! She was attending an event at Berjaya Time Square. Coincidentally, I passed by there on my way back to the condo I stayed in Bukit Jalil.

[Fish - the ambassador for Cenosis slimming center]

She was actually attending an occasion organized by Cenosis - a slimming company where Fish Leong became the company's ambassador for more than 5 years already. The emcee was Jiang Pei Pei, a former AiFM deejay.

[Fish Leong on stage with her yellow boot]

The event started by the emcee interviewed Fish on how she maintain her body shape and her beauty. Fish was wearing a striking Yellow boot which gave me the impression of why she used Phua Chu Kang's boot on the stage. Even the emcee also made a joke of it, "Why you wear Phua Chu Kang's shoes? Must be you know KL will flood!". HAHA! It sounds logic right?

Anyway, after I saw it clearly, actually the boot is a high heel yellow boot but not the Phua Chu Kang type of striking yellow rubber safety boot!

Just a short session on this. Then it was followed by question and answer session. In this session, the audiences were invited to the stage to ask Fish any questions related to beauty and also the secret how Fish can keep her beauty even though she is busy.

[One of the Fish Leong fans club member wearing "I Love Fish" printed t-shirt asking question to Fish]

Some Fish's fans even wore the t-shirt with the word "I Love Fish" printed on it. These group must be true fans to Fish. Most of the participants were requesting for taking photo with Fish after they asked their question. Fish was sporting enough to agree with the request and posing nicely in front of the camera. So sweet of her!

[Fish kindly accepted the request to take a photo with a participant where Jiang became the temporary photographer]

Sometimes upon request, the emcee Jiang was asked to be temporary photographer of the person went up to stage to ask Fish questions. Jiang was nice enough to help up but I am not sure if the photo she snapped clear or not. ;p

[Fish prepared to sing]

After the Q&A session, Fish Leong was requested to sing some songs to the audience. She sang 2 songs, all from her new album. The first song was “没有如果” which recently you can listen from the radio quite frequently. Very nice song.

[Fish singing on stage]

The second song was “属于” also from her latest album. Her voice was really nice! She was singing live yet the quality was just like you listen to her singing in CD! However, the unproper sound system disturbed Fish performance a bit. There were few times she was asking the staffs on duty to louder the music or adjust the on stage loud speakers so that she could hear her own voice better.

[Fish was given a bouquet of flower towards the end of the event]

Anyway, I really felt good to see Fish Leong in person! She is one of my favorite lady singer and I love most of her songs. The only thing regreted is I couldn't stand nearer to see her even clearer!

Sorry... the photo quality may not as good due to zooming in.

Tee Keat In Action @ Sungei Wang Plaza

Met Datuk Ong Tee Keat, MCA president cum current Transport minister this afternoon when I went for lunch at Sungei Wang Plaza with few colleagues. Didn't really hear what he said because we have only one hour of break thus we were on the rush. Just stopped by, then snapped few pictures of him before we left to Lowyat Plaza to buy something.

Anyway, is nice to see him in real person. If I have more time, I would stay longer to listen to his speech. Honestly, the real person is not much different from the one I always see in tv!

Value Added Nasi Lemak @ Tepi Jalan

Yummy! Just finished my nasi lemak! One of my favorite Malay food!

This morning my colleague Chamb again introduced us with a very nice and delicious nasi lemak just not too far away from UOA building. We even can see the stall from office balcony. It's a stall near the roadside. Chamb told us "The nasi lemak is cheap yet delicious. Let us go tapao?".

[View from office balcony. Can you see the stall?]

Without much tought, I agreed! Nasi Lemak!!! I like it so much! I can't refused! So just less than a minute's walk, we were at the stall. I could see the Makcik selling nasi lemak were so busy doing packing. A lot of additional dishes were on the table e.g. chicken, fish, fried eggs, cuttlefish, livers, clams, mussels and etc up to you to choose.

[The dishes for you to choose from]

I wished to choose all! But I couldn't do so unless I don't mind to pay few tens for it. So after some thought, I decided to go for the mussels, chillied mussles. Chamb ordered the same as mine, Sparkish ordered nasi lemak with chicken and FoxKing prefer ordinary nasi lemak.

[The Makcik is busy packing nasi lemak]

The price? It is cheap really! The cheapest yet most value-added meal I ever try in KL so far! The ordinary nasi lemak costs RM1.50 only! Mine one with mussels RM2.50. Nasi lemak with chicken worth RM3.50. Trust me... the chicken is a big piece of chicken! RM3.50 still worth the money.

We even asked the Makcik to add more sambal to our nasi lemak. The very nice Makcik never hesitate to add another scope of sambal into the rice! It's so yummy! I love sambal so much!

[My pack of nasi lemak]

Ok... this is how my pack of nasi lemak looks like when I opened it. It is really big portion! If it is not because we are all big eaters, I don't think one person can finish it alone!

[When the pack was opened...]

The nasi lemak is wrapped with a banana's leaf to add more aroma to the rice and also make it more presentable.

[This is the nasi lemak with banana leaf at the bottom!]

The standard ingredients in the nasi lemak includes half boiled eggs, cucumbers, deep fried ikan bilis, peanuts and also sambal. I think even you didn't add the extra dish, the ordinary nasi lemak is already delicious enough.

[Nasi lemak full of ingredients]

The taste? Ymmmm.... delicious of course! Although it looks quite "red", but it is not spicy actually. Just a little. Otherwise, our FoxKing who hate spicy so much would not be able to finish the whole packet! ;p

[The cucumbers, sambal, mussels, egg, etc... ]

It is definitely a meal that worth your money! Honestly, not much you can do with RM2.50 especially in KL area but this one is really an exceptional. If you are a big eater, you really should try this especially those working nearby.

"Professional" Photographers?

In metropolis like KL, it is not too hard to see "professional" photographers. Everywhere you go, you will see people carrying DSLR (Digital Single-Lens Reflex) camera. It is a trend. Just like our hand phone, it was once only affordable by business person or taukeh. But can you see the trend now? Even a secondary student can have a hand phone in their school bag.

["Professional" photographers in KL]

This is the trend I was talking about. DSLR now already become a trend in big city like KL. Fully automatic camera like my Canon IXUS is almost fade out already. Those carrying a DSLR camera will be considered as "professional" photographers and they have a special and most strategic place reserved for them in an event like fashion show. Even pretty girls proudly posing in front of their camera no matter they are true professional photographers or amatuer bloggers like me. The main concern is "show your DSLR camera"!

["Professional" photographers usually have special platform for them to shot the event]

However if you are using an automatic camera like I do, then the story will be different. You have to make your own effort to get the best angle and shot. Pretty girls may keep avoiding your camera because they may thought you are just another "ham sap lou" (sex-maniac) or taiwanese prefer to call it as "weird uncle". Of course there is exception! Just like the pc fair show girls, I salute them for their professionalism and that makes them even prettier than they actually are!

Ok, forget about the story on what type of camera you are carrying. Now lets talk about KL "professional" photographers. Hereafter, the phrase "professional photographers" would mean those carrying DSLR camera no matter they are true professional or just an amatuer.

It is certainly not easy to be a professional photographer in KL. The EFFORTS should be take into account at all time. First you have to go to the scene earlier so that you can standby and get the best postition to make the shot. Although most of the time the best angle is reserved for them, yet they still need to fight for best of the best position to capture the best shots!

[Arrived at the scene early to get the best of the best position]

[Prepare your own ladder to prevent blocking]

You know what? If you are not confident that you won't get blocked when you are taking photo, or you prefer to take shots at a higher angle, then better bring your own ladder or stool. This was the situation I saw in a shopping complex when those professional photographers were busy shooting on a fashion show.

[No ladder? Just bring stool to make yourself "taller"]

Are they really professional? I am not sure. But what you can see is, they all having a DSLR camera with long lens. Even if they are a blogger like me or a "weird uncle", you will never know as well. At least, the camera and their posture while taking the photos make them look like a professional!

[Bunch of "professional" photographers busy shooting on a model on stage]

Although it is hard, but I guess the efforts they put on and the result of their shots will return to them tonnes of satisfaction.

[See who stand higher and have longer lens!]

I wish one day I can be one of them as well and not just carrying a Canon IXUS and hard to find a good angle to make my shots!

Chocolate Cake...

Guess what I am doing now? 5 seconds from now!

5... 4... 3... 2... 1... time's up!! Looks like nobody get the answer correct. Ok, the answer is... now I am actually enjoying a piece of chocolate cake brought by my colleague Chamb! Don't be jealous, ok?

The cake was the courtesy of Shangari-La Hotel when Chamb and his wife were having a dinner at the hotel with his wife's colleagues for early wedding celebration. For those who may know already, Chamb is going to end his zaman bujang (single life) on this coming May, just about 2 more weeks to go.

It is a full chocolate cake with 2 giant strawberries and some wild berries on top of the cake. Very nice looking cake and it has strong chocolate smell.

The taste? Yummy!! Just delicious and full of chocolate taste! Can you see how thick are the chocolate layers on top and in between of the cake? That will explain how nice the cake taste especially for chocolate lovers!

Now I am having 2nd piece! HAHAHA! Thanks Chamb for sharing the nice cake with us! Wish you happy forever and your love will be as sweet as this cake!

When LRT Broke Down...

Queuing for Lihom's concert? Or a football match?

No! You are definitely wrong! This is what happened at KLCC LRT station when the train having major technical problem with the automatic train control station. Just happened I was there to take train heading to Wangsa Maju after work last Friday.

The queue was too long and the place was packed till it was hard to walk through that area. Imagine, KLCC LRT station is one of the busiest station. Then, the broken down was happened during the most peak hour. I think it was not hard to imagine what will happen!

I heard Putra LRT always facing such technical problem from time to time. As LRT has become one of the major public transport for metropolitan, I hope authority concern should really be more sensitive about this issue and take necessary action to solve the problem for good.

Otherwise, this kind of situation can really bring a lot of incovenience to the people especially those use LRT as their major daily transport.

As for me, I never expect I would be one of the victim to the poor LRT system as I just being here for a month. Maybe I should consider myself as "lucky" for meeting it when i was about to use it. It certainly brought a lot of trouble to me and as the result, I was forced to walk for a long distance and used bus to my destination which wasted me more than 3 hours!

Crazy!!
